Cancel your plans, because I give you permission to do absolutely nothing this weekend but watch these shows on Netflix.

- Bloodline

- Peaky Blinders

Ironically, both of these are about these psychotic families that would do anything to protect each other, I mean that’s the best most simple way you can put it.

Peaky Blinders aired a couple of days ago, going on their third season, and I have to say, this was my favorite season so far. I just finished it and I am left wanting more episodes!! I feel like there’s a void that can’t be filled now that it’s over. It’s that good. Basically, Peaky Blinders is about a crime family in Birmingham England around the 1920’s. The gangsters are led by Thomas Shelby, a total badass and one of the main reasons this show is so goddamn good. Thomas is played by Cillian Murphy (you might remember him as Scarecrow from Batman), but his role in this show is absolutely 100% his breakout role, no doubt. The emotion he puts in to his acting is, dare I say, something you’d see in a really really intense Leonardo DiCaprio movie. Why the name Peaky Blinders? It refers to their 1920’s style hats that they’ve sewn knives into the visor to use for killing...

On to your next future obsession: Bloodline. 100% just as much of a family drama, but of course in a totally different way. Let me warn you, the first season starts a little slow, and they are constantly doing flashbacks and flash forwarding to things we have NO clue about. Which is kind of annoying but also gives it its appeal. Don’t expect to get a lot of your questions answered until towards the end of each season, but I promise you the wait will be worth it. Jaw dropping. Bloodline is about a family that grew up owning a beautiful Inn on a beach in Florida. The siblings and parents are haunted by something huge in their past that affected them all. This dark past stems from something that occurred with their black sheep of a brother that decides to return home after many years and stir up some terrible memories and a lot of trouble for those around him. This show is kind of difficult to explain without giving too much away, but just take my word for it, it’s a fantastic show.
